Paper Mache’

Today's radio segment was about the craft of paper mache and the project I did for my son's sixth grade teacher, Mr. A, for Teacher Appreciation Week. The theme was "We Are Nuts About You!"

I found this source ⬇️ to have a lot of info on this craft. I used 2 matching deep bowls to create the ends of the peanut. After those dried, I removed them and used strips of paper to connect the two bowls to get a peanut outline.

Several layers of paper with drying time allowed, I used slender rope to add texture like a peanut 🥜 would have. Paper on top of that, drying time, then paint rounded out the project.

I used a dremel to cut open the peanut in the middle. I painted inside and varnished the entire piece.

This project took several days to complete as you can imagine, but it was worth the effort. 😊

You can source my peanut butter cookie recipe in the recipe section if you desire.
